About the Project
Senior citizens are often left out in the design of spaces as many are intimidated by the process, or do not possess the language to participate. When commissioned to co-create an activity centre cum kitchen to be used by elderly residents of two studio apartment blocks in Yishun, we focused on designing methods to demystify the design process for the elderly participants. These include the use of tangible models, visual boards, and multi-lingual workshops. We saw this project through to design development and construction, to ensure that the seniors’ aspirations and needs were translated into the built outcomes.
A partnership with National Council of Social Service, for Pacific Activity Centre.
