About the Project

Design is not only about finding solutions but empowering users to take ownership of their solution. We conducted a workshop to engage the youths of Teck Ghee Youth Centre, offering them a safe and conducive platform to share and discuss their ideas for renovating the space. By taking them through a step-by-step process of brainstorming, visualising and generating ideas, the youths not only designed something they could call their own, but the process imbued in the initially hesitant group with a sense of purpose. Motivated by their involvement in something concrete, the youths excitedly led the discussions on what form the space would become.
