About the Project

Seniors who are not as tech-savvy may feel isolated from an increasingly digitalised world especially since COVID-19 pandemic has started. Majestic Smart Seniors Applied Learning Centre (MSSALC) which is located at The Majestic, Chinatown, seeks to help seniors learn about digital technology and integrate it into their daily lives. This is a collaborative project between Participate in Design (P!D) and WeCreate Studio, supported by CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF); RSVP Singapore and Singapore Pools.

Using a participatory design approach, the centre located at the conserved building of The Majestic was reimagined together with seniors as well as stakeholders of the project to ensure that the smart seniors applied learning centre will better address the aspirations and needs of the seniors and the community using the space.

The centre was officially inaugurated by President Halimah Yacob on 18 February 2022.
