About the Project

Alongside Cooling Singapore, we engaged residents in Punggol through pop-ups and community workshops in order to understand thermal comfort in the neighbourhood. Participants brainstormed new and exciting ideas on how to make their neighbourhoods more comfortable and enjoyable, and discussed thermal perceptions, beliefs toward the environment, and how greater thermal comfort may impact life and outdoor activity. Participants were able to assess strategies and measures to improve the design of outdoor spaces, and some were able to join a participatory budgeting exercise where they had to prioritise spending around the improvement of outdoor thermal comfort.

This project, Cooling Singapore, was in partnership with Campus for Research Excellence and Technological Enterprise, Singapore- ETH Centre, Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research and Technology, TUM CREATE Ltd., National University of Singapore, SUTD Singapore University of Technology & Design, and Participate In Design
